1. Preamble
These General Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern the mutual rights and obligations between the seller (the Zlatý Roh winery) and the buyer in the sale of wine and related products through the online store operated on the zlatyroh.sk domain.
By completing and submitting an order you agree to these Terms. We recommend reading them before ordering; they are written to be understandable without a lawyer.
2. Definitions
- Seller
- The Zlatý Roh winery, operator of the zlatyroh.sk online store (full identification details in Article 3).
- Buyer / Consumer
- A natural person over 18 years of age who, when entering into the contract, is not acting within the scope of their business activity.
- Buyer acting as a business
- A person who enters into the contract within the scope of their business activity; consumer protection provisions do not apply to them.
- Goods
- Wine, wine gift sets and related products offered in the online store.
- Contract
- A purchase contract concluded at a distance between the seller and the buyer through the online store.

5. Price and Payment
5.1 Prices in the online store are final, including VAT and the excise duty on wine. They are stated in euros (€).
5.2 The shipping cost is shown before you submit the order, based on the chosen delivery method. The total price is the sum of the price of the goods and shipping.
5.3 Accepted payment methods:
- Online by payment card (Visa, Mastercard)
- Apple Pay / Google Pay
- By bank transfer based on an issued proforma invoice
- Cash on delivery (for courier delivery)
6. Shipping and Delivery
6.1 Delivery area: We ship goods exclusively within the Slovak Republic. We do not currently offer international delivery.
6.2 Delivery time: Slovakia usually 1 - 2 business days from dispatch. Orders received on a business day by 12:00 are dispatched the same day; later and weekend orders the next business day.
6.3 Carrier: Delivery is provided exclusively by DPD. Goods are packed in molded cardboard cases so the bottles are protected from damage in transit.
6.4 Shipping cost: The shipping cost is based on the total value of the order:
- orders up to €100: shipping €9
- orders from €100.01 to €150: shipping €5
- orders over €150: free shipping
- personal pickup at the winery in Devín: free (by prior arrangement only)
6.5 The seller reserves the right to adjust the shipping price list according to the carrier's current conditions. The price list published at the time the order is confirmed always applies to the customer.
6.6 When receiving the shipment, we recommend checking the packaging. If it is damaged, draw up a damage report with the courier and contact us within 24 hours.
6.7 We apply no minimum or maximum quantity of goods per order.
7. Withdrawal from the Contract
7.1 In accordance with Act No. 102/2014 Coll., as a consumer you have the right to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods.
7.2 You can exercise your right of withdrawal in any of the following ways:
- By e-mail to zlatyroh@zlatyroh.sk
- By filling in the model contract withdrawal form (available on the page Returns and complaints)
- By letter delivered to the registered office address
7.3 You must return the goods no later than 14 days after withdrawal. The goods should be undamaged, ideally in the original packaging. The cost of returning the goods is borne by the buyer.
7.4 We will refund your money (including any shipping, in the same form of payment you used) within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, but no sooner than after we receive the returned goods.
7.5 The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to special requirements (e.g. wine with a personalized label).
8. Returns and complaints
8.1 Warranty on wine: until the best-before date stated on the label. For other goods, 24 months under the Civil Code.
8.2 You can file a complaint by e-mail to zlatyroh@zlatyroh.sk, by phone, or by post to the registered office address. For fast processing, attach a photo of the goods and a brief description of the problem.
8.3 We will inform you of the outcome of your complaint within 30 days. You can find the detailed complaint procedure on the page Returns and complaints.
9. Sale of Alcoholic Beverages
9.1 In accordance with Act No. 219/1996 Coll., we sell alcoholic beverages exclusively to persons over 18 years of age.
9.2 When the shipment is handed over or picked up in person, we reserve the right to verify the buyer's age. If you are not over 18, the courier may not hand over the goods.
9.3 Drink responsibly.
10. Personal Data
The processing of personal data is governed by a separate document, the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
11. Alternative Dispute Resolution
11.1 If you are not satisfied with how your complaint was handled, you have the right to turn to an alternative dispute resolution body (Act No. 391/2015 Coll.).
11.2 The competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection (SOI), Prievozská 32, 827 99 Bratislava, www.soi.sk. A list of other bodies is available on the website of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
11.3 Consumers may also use the EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Final Provisions
12.1 These Terms take effect on the day they are published in the online store. The seller reserves the right to amend the Terms; for contracts already concluded, the version in effect at the time the order was submitted always applies.
12.2 Matters not governed by these Terms are subject to the laws of the Slovak Republic, in particular the Civil Code, the Consumer Protection Act and the act on consumer protection in distance selling.
