My story with the wine

Ever since my first contact with the wine and its production in my early childhood, I have been fascinated by the difficult to describe magical atmosphere that surrounds wine, vineyards, vintage and everything connected with it. However, the study of viticulture as well as the cultivation and production experience showed me the reality without romantic pink glasses. Instead of the barefoot young ladies stepping on grapes, the everyday never-ending work came.

The gained humility and respect for the soil, for the vineyard, the grapes and the wine caused the relentless desire to be flowless. Every single step. There is a catch, though. There is nothing ideal and flawless in the production of wine. There are only people’s decisions in the given time and space. It is these decisions that have an impact on the uniqueness of the “terroir” which also has a strong anthropogenic aspect. Therefore, I believe that the way to successful cultivation of grapes and the production of wine never ends. It consists of perpetual and clever monitoring of the consequences of the steps we take every year.
