About the location of the Zlatý Roh

The winery is located in the Devin village nearby the Bratislava city. It farms on the southwestern foothills of small Carpathians lying above the confluence of the rivers Danube and Moravia. The unique exposition and the slope of the vineyards laying at an altitude of 200-300 m above the sea level offer a magical view of the ruins of the Devin Castle and the surrounding countryside.

The soil composition of the vineyards has great diversity. On some plots it is possible to find lighter clay sandy soils with granite fragments, on others loess soils or loamy limestone soils. A very characteristic aspect is the soil-forming horizon, mostly formed by sedimentary limestone in various forms. Geological and pedological factors, the unique microclimate caused by the presence of the rivers Danube and Moravia, these are the factors that create unique and unrepeatable conditions for growing grapes. With the respect and the humility for the nature we try to transform a unique terroir into our vines.
